Introduction to Mediation Course

On 21 November 2018, CRCICA hosted the “Introduction to Mediation” Course offered by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – Egypt Branch. The course, taught by Dr. Ahmed Waly, Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Construction Engineering, the American University in Cairo, Approved Faculty and Course Director from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London and certified Mediator and Trainer by the Centre of Effective Disputes Resolution - CEDR, aimed to provide an understanding of the general principles of mediation and its relationship to other dispute resolution mechanisms. The course provided candidates with an introduction to mediation, decribed its procedures and good practices, in order to understand mediation within the context of other forms of dispute resolution.

Successful candidates were eligible to apply for Associate grade of CIArb and take advantage of a range of educational and professional benefits. The course was attended by lawyers, judges and participants from various backgrounds including construction and engineering industry, real estate, and the oil and gas sectors. Participants were from England, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
