Dr. Ismail Selim was a panelist at the CIArb International Virtual Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration, held during 5-28 March 2021. The Diploma is one of CIArb’s leading membership training programmes, normally delivered in the heart of Oxford for more than twenty years. For the second year, owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the Diploma was conducted virtually via the online platforms. Notably, Professor Dr. Mohamed S Abdel Wahab, Founding Partner and Head of International Arbitration, Construction and Energy at Zulficar & Partners Law Firm, Professor of International Arbitration, Private International Law and English Contract Law at Cairo University, Member of the CRCICA Advisory Committee, has returned to direct the 2021 virtual edition of the CIArb Oxford Diploma.

Dr. Selim lectured on 13 March 2021 at the Session titled: “Global Harmonisation and Differing Statutory Approaches to Arbitration: Civil and Common Law Jurisdictions and ‘Soft Law’”, with a focus on institutional experiences. The presentation of Dr. Selim focused on “Notable Features of CRCICA Arbitration”, including a background about CRCICA, caseload diversity, appointment of arbitrators under CRCICA, and CRCICA’s latest institutional statistics.

It is worth noting that Dr. Selim has previously lectured at the CIArb’ s Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration at University College, Oxford in September 2019 and September 2020
