Prof. Dr. Mohamed S. Abdel Wahab awarded the 2018 ASA biennial prize for advocacy in international commercial arbitration

The Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) awarded its prestigious biennial prize for advocacy in international commercial arbitration (2018) to Prof. Dr. Mohamed S. Abdel Wahab, Chair of Private International Law Department and Professor of International Arbitration (Cairo University), Founding Partner and Head of International Arbitration, Zulficar & Partners Law Firm and Member of the CRCICA Advisory Committee. 

Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab received the prize from ASA President Elliott Geisinger at a gala dinner before ASA’s annual Conference, February 2018, Zurich, Switzerland.  Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab is the first prize winner residing in  Africa and the Middle East region.  Quoting Ms. Melissa Magliana, Partner, Lalive, and ASA prize past winner , Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab is “a truly impressive and inspiring individual” whose legal and academic practice and achievements in the international arbitration community established him internationally as an accomplished academic and outstanding advocate as well as a mentor and role model to younger lawyers in Egypt and beyond.   The ASA prize was launched in 2010 dedicated to counsels who demonstrate "exceptional talents" in their representation of parties in arbitration proceedings and use these talents to make a contribution to international commercial arbitration as an efficient and effective form of dispute resolution.
