Panel of Arbitrators
The Centre has a panel of arbitrators boasting eminent and rising practitioners from all around the world, but parties are free to choose their arbitrators from outside the Centre’s list. In making appointments, the Centre takes the parties’ respective nationalities into consideration, and makes sure to promote arbitrators from all regions in the world, female arbitrators and arbitrators aged under 40, as part of the Equal Representation Pledge (2017).
CRCICA has in its Panel of Arbitrators more than 400 arbitrators from 60 nationalities other than from Egypt. The Panel of Arbitrators includes arbitrators from Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Greece, Haiti, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Palestine, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Somalia, South Korea, Spain, Sudan, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America and Zambia.

Standards for Admission to CRCICA Panel of Arbitrators
Admission to the CRCICA Panel of Arbitrators (“Panel”) takes place where a candidate requests to be added to the Panel via an email sent to panel@crcica.org having attached the candidate’s CV and other supporting materials as set below.
Candidates wishing to apply to the Panel must demonstrate an appropriate level of expertise and experience in international arbitration and be of good standing and character. In general, applicants will be required to meet the minimum standards set out below.
Applicants wishing to submit their applications to the Panel must, at a minimum, have the following qualifications or experience:
- Experience as an arbitrator in 5 or more arbitration cases;
- Experience as counsel in at least 6 or more arbitration cases;
- Membership or Fellowship from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) or CIArb Egypt branch;
- Be aged between 30 and 75 years; or
- Any other supplemental information exemplifying the applicant’s experience in arbitration such as completing any arbitration related courses or seminars.
CRCICA shall respond to the applicant’s request by acceptance or rejection. Once accepted, CRCICA will request the applicant to fill a form and have it signed and send it back by e-mail to CRCICA. A further e-mail shall be sent from CRCICA confirming the successful admission of the applicant to the Panel.
CRCICA reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to admit or to refuse the admission of any applicant to the Panel. In exercising its discretion, CRCICA will have regard to, inter alia, the qualifications, experience and standing of an applicant as well as to the number of arbitrators currently on the Panel from the country in which the applicant is resident.
CRCICA reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to remove any person from the Panel at any time.
Guidelines for Renewal in CRCICA’s Panel of Arbitrators
Inclusion on CRCICA’s Panel of Arbitrators is for a period of 5 years, ending on 31 December of the final year.
An arbitrator applying for continued inclusion will be required to:
- Detail the experience he or she has had acting as arbitrator during their term of inclusion on CRCICA’s Panel of Arbitrators; and
- Confirm continued compliance with the criteria for entry onto the Panel (as appropriate).
The Centre may take into account, where available, feedback from counsel and co-arbitrators received as part of the evaluation process CRCICA undertakes in relation to its administered cases.
The final decision as to whether an arbitrator’s inclusion on CRCICA’s Panel of Arbitrators will be renewed will be taken by the Centre, which reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to admit or reject applications for continued inclusion on the Panel of Arbitrators. In making that decision, the Centre may direct that an arbitrator undertake specific training or demonstrate particular experience before continued inclusion is confirmed.
The Centre may also, in its absolute discretion, allow arbitrators fulfilling areas of particular requirement including,inter alia, nationality, country of residence, language ability and experience, to remain on the Panel of Arbitrators beyond the expiry of their initial term.
The decision of the Centre as to whether a name remains on or is removed from the Panel of Arbitrators is final.
