CRCICA Continues to Adopt a Supporting Role Towards Students and Career Beginners

First IDAI-JESSUP Internal Moot Court competition

On 8 July 2019, CRCICA hosted the First IDAI-Jessup Internal Moot Court Competition of Le Club de Simulation d'Arbitrage et de Plaidoiries (CSAP) – The Jessup Club of the Institut de Droit des Affaires Internationales (IDAI). Two groups of students pleaded their case before two panels in two different rounds. The case included various topics; the validity of interstate arbitral awards, the capture of an underwater vessel, the potential violation of nuclear disarmament obligations, and the conduct of states involved in naval warfare.

The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is an advocacy competition for law students. Teams of law students compete against one another through the presentation of oral and written pleadings to address timely issues of public international law in the context of a hypothetical legal dispute between nations.
