Al Tamimi & Company Abu Dhabi

Within the context of informing the Arab Legal Community about CRCICA's latest developments, on 5 February 2020, Dr. Ismail Selim visited Al Tamimi & Company – Abu Dhabi Office. The presentation of Dr. Selim was attended by a number of partners and senior associates and focused on CRCICA’s background, caseload and recognitions. Moreover, interesting topics were discussed in relation to, inter alia, cost effectiveness of CRCICA’s arbitration process under CRCICA’s rules, as well as the appointment of arbitrators according to the principle of party autonomy which allows each party to nominate freely its arbitrator even if not listed in CRCICA’s Panel of Arbitrators, and to contribute indirectly in the appointment of the presiding arbitrator either through the chosen co-arbitrators or through the identical list procedure adopted by the CRCICA as an appointment authority as the case may be. Dr. Selim also spoke about the latest agreement between CRCICA and the ADGMAC where ADGMAC will be CRCICAs alternative hearing centre for CRCICA’s arbitrations and mediations in the UAE.
